raped

An ordinary life
With few despairs
I used to believe
Life’s still good, if not fair

It wasn't a night
But it all turned black
It was a blur
I've been to hell and back

All I now remember
Is my own contorted face
Time has never
So much slowed its pace.

An abominable demon,
I sleep with every night
Inside a tunnel
At the end there is no light

Now, my dented soul
Roams the world undressed
But you need more proof
A two-finger test.

You question me
When my honor has been scraped
Don't you see it on my face
I have been raped.

Don't you feel, you have been too, after reading the news every morning.

    really touchy and bloody true.
None will write such post in GULF countries, because there if anyone commits a RAPE, they will be hanged in traffic signal...
I wish India must handle those rapist and pedophiles like that...

  3. It truly is sad that in India, people would still blame the lady for having 'attracted' the rapist. Touching poem. Hopefully, people would see a little more sense in the coming years.

Stark and brutal. And how we still go on, pointing fingers, not at the perpetrators, but at the victim. Very articulate piece!

  8. Reading it every time in the newspaper, new like this...the sad and a bit disgusting part it, it has almost become routine for us to see, express our sadness and a 'oh-its-another-one' look and then move away to other stories...And the recent incident in Bengal only angers me more. Neha, this poem should be shown to every one who is not in their right minds and who keep party politics and hidden opportunistic agendas ahead of protecting these kinds of incidents happening or taking stern actions against the culprits. Amen!
